The best time to send a review request

Timing, frequency and reminder rules that get replies without annoying customers.

Same day, after payment

Send once the job is complete and paid. A delay of one to three hours works well for most trades: long enough for the customer to see the result, short enough to still be top of mind.

Respect quiet hours

Avoid early mornings, late evenings and holidays. A request that wakes someone up will not become a five-star review.

One reminder, maximum

If there's no click after a couple of days, one gentle reminder is reasonable. After that, stop — and never re-ask the same customer within 30 days.
