Acceptable Use Requirements
Version 1.0 · Last updated: September 2026
These requirements apply to every business using LocalReview Direct and form part of the Tenant Services Agreement.
1. Permitted contacts
You may only message a person who completed a paid job or transaction with your business and who gave you consent to receive a review-request text — verbally at the point of sale, in writing on the consent form, or by texting your number first.
2. Prohibited sources
- Purchased, rented, traded or leased contact lists
- Scraped, harvested or otherwise automatically collected numbers
- Numbers obtained from a third party who collected the consent
- Numbers from people who have not completed a paid job or transaction with you
- Numbers where consent was a condition of purchase
3. Prohibited content
- Marketing, promotions, discounts or upsells
- Political, charitable or fundraising content
- Loans, credit repair, debt collection, gambling or cannabis content
- Any content unrelated to requesting a review of a completed job
- Messages to a customer who has replied STOP
4. Review integrity
You may not offer payment, discounts or any incentive in exchange for a review, ask only satisfied customers to review you, or attempt to filter or gate negative feedback. Review platforms prohibit these practices and so do we.
5. Opt-outs and help
Every message includes STOP instructions. Opt-outs are honoured automatically and immediately, and cannot be overridden from your workspace. Never re-add a number that opted out unless the customer asks you to in writing.
6. Frequency and timing
One review request per completed job, with at most one reminder. Duplicate requests to the same number within 30 days are blocked by the platform. Messages are sent during reasonable local hours.
7. Enforcement
Breaching these requirements can result in a compliance review, a messaging pause, or termination. Questions: support@localreviewdirect.com.
